Christopher
Lant is Professor of Geography and Environmental
Resources, Executive Director of the Universities
Council on Water Resources (UCOWR), and co-Director
of the Environmental Resources and Policy program
at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. His
research interests are in water resources management,
ecological-economic modeling of watersheds and
U.S. agricultural conservation and wetlands policy.
Among current projects is an NSF-funded study
called “Virtual Watershed: Agricultural
Landscape Evolution in an Adaptive Management
Context.” Dr. Lant has received 18 research
grants for over $2 million, has published over
two dozen articles in peer-reviewed journals,
advised 15 Masters and 3 Ph.D. students, and serves
on the President’s Advisory Committee on
Water Information. He was Editor of the Journal
of the American Water Resources Association from
1994-2001 and has since served as Editor of the
Journal of Contemporary Water Research and Education. |
