Kathy (Gobert), MS, 1997 and

Phil Brown, MS, 1997

Kathy (Gobert) and Phil Brown are happy and busy in North Dakota-- with 2 children: Ava and Juliana! Phil is the Lake Manager of Garrison Project, which consists of three reservoirs: Pipestem, Bowman/Haley, and Lake Sakakawea. All three lakes are located in North Dakota. Lake Sakakawea is the largest Corps managed reservoir in the nation (third in size to Lake Mead & Powell, which are BOR reservoirs). The lake is 178 miles long, averaging 6 miles wide. If you look on a map of North Dakota, find Bismarck and go north - you can't miss the Lake which is actually the Missouri River dammed. His office is located in Riverdale, which is at the southeast portion of the lake. His position consists of working closely with Tribal, Federal, State, and local partners. Programs that he manages are: monitoring 900 + cultural sites, nesting success of the federal threatened Piping Plover, control and/or eradication of noxious weeds, five campgrounds, and numerous issues associated with drought conditions common in this arid region of the country. He manages two field offices located in Williston and Jamestown, North Dakota. His staff consists of nine permanent employees and 20 + summer hires.
